In todays competitive market, I am looking for a variety of competitive advantages which will help distinguish our company from other distributors. Lower costs of goods in our market segment is the most compelling, but followed closely by networking with peer companies with matching needs and wants. After looking at other group purchasing organizations, joining some and comparing features and benefits, AMEDS was an easy choice as our primary affiliation due to its long term care/home care focus. While larger buying groups hold a multi-marketing focus, AMEDS affiliates concentrate on core product lines. Where larger groups boast $500 million plus in sales to their group purchasing partners, AMEDS is rapidly generating those same sales numbers, while focusing on selected manufacturing partners with which to do that volume of business. State-of-the-art bar code scanning systems provide an industry unique advantage to AMEDS affiliates due to the customer focused software only available through AMEDS member companies. |
